Learn how to make your home fire resistant. Creating “defensible space” by brush clearing and landscaping is important; but having a fire resistant home will keep your home from burning due to ember storms, direct flame contact, or convection and radiant heat. You will learn that a NO BURN ZONE goes beyond defensible space. Most homes aren’t prepared to withstand the onslaught of a wildfire in spite of having their vegetation in compliance with “Defensible Space” requirements. You will learn how to economically retrofit your home with new fire-safety products and make your vegetation fire retardant so you’ll have a NO BURN ZONE.
Creating a NO BURN ZONE enhances your safety and the survivability of your home. Leaving early when a wildfire threatens is wise; but what happens if the fire is upon you too quickly and you can’t leave? Or, you decide to stay to defend your property. Your home must be a safe refuge! You must be mentally and physically prepared for one of the scariest moments of your life. Having a NO BURN ZONE, and the knowledge of what to expect during a wildfire will give you physical and mental security. Or, if you do have time to safely evacuate, knowing you’ll have a home to come back to will give you peace of mind.
